Hi,

firstly thanks for the forum, lots of great technical information! I have just picked up my first Honda NQ50M at a garage sale for $100NZ, and was looking for information. It's a 1990 model, and is called an 'Eve' over here (may also be called Nifty Fifty), its fundamentally the same as the Spree, but with some cosmetic and legislative differences (different indicators, speedo, lights etc).

Any other New Zealand resident NQ50 owners out there with knowledge of parts supplies etc?

Dave

I think NiftyFifty was from NZ. There was maybe one other.

NQ50M wasn't sold in the US, guys.

Wow, didn't know that would cause so much discussion. The NQ50M appears under the seat on the tank, it may just be a country code, 'cause NQ50 appears on its own too. New Zealand is a strange market, we get all sorts of stuff here! When other markets have stopped selling something, remaining stocks of bits and pieces will be put together and sold here, especially cars, and maybe scooters. We also get stuff intended for other markets, Yamaha scooters sold here are built in Malaysia for the Malaysian market, we just get a few of them over here.

darat,

there were some american servicemen posted here during the war, and I think that started us off with speaking English. After that you just have to practice a lot.

Hi Dave,

Im from Australia and was just today looking to buy a 1988 NQ50M. I have been doing some reading and it appears that the NQ50M and the NQ50 are much the same bike.

If I find any parts supplies or recks locally I could pass on the details if it can help.

Also guys I'll try and take some pics for you.

Cheers
