Dio CDI unit

Has anyone tried this type of "high performance" CDI unit? I've installed one in my Dio, but it's been a total waste of time & money. It does nothing for performance other than make my Dio hard to start. Double-checked it by reinstalling the stock CDI, and confirmed that it rates about a -5 out of 10. I'd like to hear what others have experienced.

I got this one.
Doesn't seem to do anything. US market CDI's are not restricted to begin with.......so I don't know what you expected.

I was just experimenting. Some stuff works, but this was a zero. I was kinda surprised since I've usually found some kind of value in aftermarket Dio speed parts, but this was a clear zero. I'm asking here in case anyone has spotted any "hidden" value in these things.

I can't even show how kewl I am since the thing its down in a little hole behind the battery where nobody can see it. I'm still hoping that someone has discovered what these things are good for

Mainly I think these aftermarket units are made to replace the oem once it no longer functions. Most people would rather buy something new than used and get the best deal possible. Reguardless of whether these units function any better than the OEM cdi, the majority of people dont know that and believe whatever they are told

I for one would rather pay 19.99 for an aftermarket cdi than the Honda MSRP of 132.84 assuming I could not locate a properly working used oem cdi

Yep, buy the aftermarket CDI for $19.99 and when it fails while you are on a ride, you get to play the "How the * do I get my scooter home from here" game. Then spend $19.99 again and play the waiting game for it to fail. You get what you pay for and a $19.99 CDI is worth just that.

Geez, I paid way more than that (29.95) for this piece of junk, so I'm still hoping someone knows what it's good for. As for sparking my Dio, it's total junk right out of the shrink-wrap pkg.

Then you got the wrong one.
It should fit the spree and the elite
