Anyone put a windshield on their Spree or Elite? A few years back I put an aftermarket screen on an Adly Jet 50 moped and actually experienced a GPS recorded 3 mph improvement over the exact same course. I know, they look kind of dorky but hey, it was a relatively cheap modification ($38 on eBay)and it took me all of 30 minutes to install it. From reading the posts on this forum, I know that some of you are spending a lot more to get the same results. Comments anyone?

The speed improvement with the install of a windshield had been noted several times here on the board. My Aero picked up the same 3 mph with the install of the Honda windshield.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

You can certainly install an aftermarket windshield on your scooter. Stock or aftermarket, either way, are fairly easy to install. Some owners attempt to keep their bikes as stock as possible. A stock windshield will be virtually impossible to find if you go that route.

Sorry but what does your reply have to do with my windshield question? Please clarify and thanks.
Accept the fact that all his posts are irrelevant and usually make less sense than a 2 year old's response to any question.

Haha, yes, every post, at some point and time will go off on some random tangent. As for the windscreen, whatever works. I personally like the wind rustling my hair (no helmet laws in mo for 49cc) when I am scootin' around town. Then again, my spree is all stock and only goes 32mph.

You might want to rethink that no helmet choice. When I crashed my '86 CH150D Elite in early October I was doing about 35 mph. My helmet had a noticeable scrape on its top left side and the plastic visor covering my face had a noticeable scrape also on the left side. My upper body took most of the punishment (5 broken ribs on the left side and a partially collapsed left lung) but I figure my helmet saved me from head and facial injuries. Just remember "it's not a question of if, it's a question of when".

Very true, and I typically do wear a helmet but occasionally I don't. I'm sure it will bite me sooner or later.
