exhaust/muffler for '87 SE50?

Post by Skipper20 »

So what's a good aftermarket performance exhaust system for my '87 Elite? I'd like to get an exhaust that will clear the rear wheel so that I don't have to remove it to remove the rear wheel like the picture of the Elite on this website. I'm not interested in a super loud exhaust but one that would still be neighborhood friendly. Any recommendations and what about rejetting the carb?

As rarely as the rear wheel comes off why do you care if the exhaust is in the way?

Nothing's wrong with it. I'd just like to see if I could get rid of its weight and bulk and improve the bike's performance a bit. I'd also like to have easier access to the rear wheel as it's corroded and needs a good sanding and repainting. Thanks,

the stock se50 muffler is fairly light. pretty much all aftermarket mufflers except for a few(very hard to find) that blocks the rear wheel. if your looking for performance, the stock non restricted se50 muffler is good to 50-55mph with the 10to1 gears .45-50mph with the 11to1 gears.
