My buddy has an 01 elite sr50 that he just installed a 72cc polini corsa in. Before that and now it seems like if you hold WOT for any long period of time is dies or starves for gas. We have a 102.5 main in it and the plugs looks mint. Anyone have any similar issues? Could it be electrical or maybe something with fuel delivery? Any help is much appreciated.

dont go wot open on the new bore kits, too many people dont folow instruction break in the bore kit.

With stock carb, pipe and carbon reeds, what's a safe main jet size? Also with the 72cc kit do we need to change the pilot? If so how big? Oh and how much oil should he run in his gas tank in addition to his oil pump?

Take the gas cap off and try it.
Sometimes the little vent holes in the gas caps get obstructed.
Its a long shot but an easy one.

Explain why you can't mix oils? If what you claim is true, why are blended oils so popular today?

So what? The pump needs a different type of oil than the tank does. If you consistently use the same oils all the time while jetting the different oils will effect NOTHING.
