Nice, you should do black enamel on the Honda lettering.

Black would pull in the trans cover but white would really make it pop.

Yeah, white would also look great, maybe with white striping as well up the cover.

Ya got a little over-spray on the carb and oil pump.

Painting carbs is a BAD idea.

Thank you guys, i cant decide on the white or black lettering on the honda letters thats why it went un-painted. I didnt care much about painting the oil pump nipples because i am switching to pre-mix but i am leaving the pump there for looks. When i painted the carb i had all of the holes coverd and the nipples covered with extra fuel line scraps.

Bear- How come it is a bad idea to paint carbs? i can understand if paint gets inside but i was sure not to let that happen. and i know you are definatly not supposed to paint aluminum if it is going to be under high heat (like the head) but the carb is not under much heat. If the carb is in alot of danger from the paint i will be sure to take it off, as much as i would hate to do it lol.

After all the hard work i am not getting spark though :( i bought the moped from a trust worthy friend who said it ran before he let it sit. I am thinking magneto but i am not sure. i know that if you leaving a magneto style engine sit the "pickup" can get icky and so can the fly wheel, i sanded the fly wheel with really fine grit sand paper and made it all pretty but that didnt solve the problem.I also checked the motor kill switch and the wires were broken off and shorting eachother out so i seperated them so now the starter works but still now spark. I also bought a new ignition coil and a cheapo "racing" cdi as a quick fix but i dont plan on leaving that on. i will hopfully testing the magneto tonite and i hope i can solve the problem.

After i get it in running order i get to work on my body panels and fenders. They are in pretty bad condition, cant wait to paint them up :) Thanks guys-Nate

Put the head on the right way so that the engine does not overheat.

No, it is 90┬░ out of position. The fins go cross ways.

ok, im not arguing but elaborate. the pictures i used as a reference have the fins going this way. I just googled the engine and looked through ebay and people have the head going alot of different ways. I took the head off the way i put it on too. The reason i put it on the way i did is because it made sense for the air to travle through the fins while you drive, cooling down the engine. Why do the fins go cross ways? now that i looked in the manual i see that it goes cross ways but why?

The head fins go sideways so the cooling air from the fan flows through them properly. All the heads on every which way are WRONG!

Do you have the air shrouds for this engine?
