Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

Bought a '01 Jog.
Have it somewhat apart to check compression (was told it was at 25-30 just after I bought it), change plug, air filter, and trans oil.
The manual states the amount to fill it is .10 liter.
I have started to fill it without measuring the .10 liter...
How do I know if it's full? Is it possible to overfill? Should I just drain out the new and refill it with .10 liter?
Thanks...it's getting dark and I want to try and reinstall all the plastics.

PS Compression read 95 and then 100 with drops of oil.
Spark plug looked toasted.
Have a carb questions coming but am trying to take a picture before I ask...

I know it sounds funny but i always poured or squirted however you do it, while spinning the wheel until i seen it flowing over the gears.. Since you can see once you take that plug out.. Its been fine for me everytime i did it.. I use 10w30 motor oil

......The amount of 10W40 oil required to refill the trans is 3.38 ounces, the equivalent of .10 liters. the end....

Like all rear end lube you fill it to the bottom of the fill hole, regardless of how much it takes. When it runs back out it is full.

ended up going bears route on the trans

fyi compression 95 and 100 with drops of oil

Wrong Bear. In concept, this would mean perpetual filling of the trans because the overflow vent is below the fill hole.

Use the proper amount of oil or you'll have a mess. It won't harm the bike to have too much oil but it could create a slick spot on your tire.

yep, that's what it did... slick spot

A little dish soap and water will wash it off. Rubber safe degreaser is quicker.

can turn plastic up 9 o clock , the vent hose goes over the tranny. vent hose place a small tab on a rear kicker cover .

follow what yamaha say. or will leak on clutch shaft seal..

Good point. That is how they did the long case from the factory.
