Handlebar and seat options SA50

Post by smokindon »

I have removed my headlight housing and I want to run just handlebars so what are my options? What bars will fit? How have you guys gone about mounting the switches? Has anyone tried using different controls that have the kill switch and blinkers built in, like on a Ruckus?

I have contemplated just making a mount for the switches out of sheet metal but I'd like a cleaner option. I picked up a new headlight at Tractor Supply which I've mounted on the front cover of my 88 Elite LX.

I recently put new bars on my Tomos which are dirtbike style but they mount like bike handlebars, the Hondas seem to use a large nut on the top of the front fork which I'm not familiar with.

Here's some pics to help out:

This is how it sits right now, switches are just hanging loose

This is how I'll be running the headlight

These are the bars I just picked up for my Tomos, as you can see they mount with the clamp so its pretty universal

And for those of you unfamiliar with the Ruckus, here's a shot of mine. They seem to mount the same way as the Elite, however it has all the switches built in

Also, as you can see my seat is beyond repair, has anyone tried mounting a seat off any other scooters? I'd like to find a smaller one and something on the cheap side.

I'd appreciate any input, out of my 5 scooters the Elite is my favorite, but seems to be the least supported in the aftermarket.
