hey just had a few questions on what to get for my 01 elite. I was thinking about getting a 78cc (link below) also a new variator with different gram rollers (9g) (link below) also i thought i would need a new gear ratio so anyone have any ideas on what to run? Also if anyone had any other suggestions to make the scoot go faster please feel free to let me know

9:1 and 8.4:1 are common. 8.4:1 is better for more top end but less acceleration from a stop.

Welcome
The link to the BBK says the crankcase must be machined in order to accept the crankshaft.
Maybe you want a "bolt-on" kit. There are plenty of them available.
Here's what is popular so far as I've seen:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLINI-72cc-BIG ... 87888?pt=R
http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLINI-72cc-COR ... 085278?pt=
My personal choice was the first one. They are all quality kits and have repair parts available.
Good luck with your elite and hope this was helpful to you. :thumbwink:

lighter rollers will increase your take off but limit your top speed.
heavier rollers will limit take off but increase top speed.

i would try for a mid weight i use 7.7 gram polini but thinking of moving to 8 - 8.5 gram

My understanding is your scooter doesn't have a Rev limited so the Fdic is
a big waste of time and money

what type of gas are you planing on running with this setup? 6.9to1 gears is to much gears for that size bore. get 8to1 for the best efficiency for the setup.

using smaller gears doesnt mean its going to go faster. there is a point where the motor cant turn the gears and max them out without and help from either tail wind, down hill or drafting someone or something.you dont have enough torque to turn those gears efficiently with that size motor. you can get to 55-70mph with 8to1 gears. 55mph no problem with those gears. milling the head on a kit that already has a high compression ratio for the fuel your using will only make it easier to blow that kit up or seize it. the only time you mill the head is if the compression ratio is to low for the fuel your using or getting the squish where it needs to be.
