Hello all, I just picked this up off craigslist for $100. It needs a jug and rings. I will be stripping the plastics and keeping it naked. The stock AF05E is being gone thru and will get a bbk.

Well I just took the head and cylinder off, the rings crumbled into the engine. Ugh! The cylinder does have one deep score on it. I did a little reading, but what are everybody's opinions on those gy6's?

well i hate to tell you but there is no a lot of things you can do with that motor ..... there is no after market pipe and only one bbk for it so if your looking for a speed deamon its not going to happen but as a bike you can get running and sell for 400 or more you got the winer .. tas sell a piston and rings for arond 46 dollers and you shood be up and running...

heres the ebay for tas piston and rings (
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Spree-NQ5 ... 2b&vxp=mtr ) i no its for a spree but its the same the jug is not the same so you need to use your se50 jug ... im useing one in mine

other thing you can do is put a Ruckus variator in it and you may need to trim the case by the starter to get it in ... as well as putting a 3.5 tire on but you may need to trim the case as well ..
1 up jet to a 88 or 90
2 mill the head by 0.0020 after to do a compression test
3 Ruckus variator
4 taller tire going from a 2.75 to a 3.50
i will not say you will get 45 all day long but you mite ..

Keep the Honda motor in the Honda, and forget the gy6. It would look all weird in there and is not proportioned to the scoot at all.

how fast do you want to go?
If you want 40 - 45 mph , then just de-restrict what you have.
If 50 or 55 mph, then get a nice mallossi kit for it.
If you want to go faster than that , swap in a dio.

Thanks sanjuro, I'll stay away from the gy6 then. I am aiming for a minimum of 50 mph so I can hit some of the nicer roads around here. I will look into the mallossi kit. Will I need a different carb with the mallossi kit? What part number should I look for in a dio engine?
sorry for all the questions, and thank you!

Redeft sells malossi kits. He has everything you need. You can even go as far as getting a dellorto 19mm carb kit for it and it should match the malossi cylinder kit.

Thanks, I am going to check out that Mallossi cylinder and that carb. Redeft's website seems to be down? Does he have a contact on this forum?
I tore the elite plastics off today and I really like the look of the bare frame. I might just do a bare bones build.
Does anybody know if there are any front forks with disc brakes that I can mount up with little to no mods?
Thank you!

Redeft has his own for sale thread in the for sale section. Also the metro front end can be swapped into the se50.

Get an actual dip live front end from Japan. Bolt on and disc. Metro front end will still be drum brakes. They are a bigger drum and the larger wheel with 90/90 tire is nice. Changes the height.
Here is the thread:
