Not often posting in this column reserved for gear-heads... :hi:
I have purchased a ruckus variator and I'm curious how to apply this to my '85 Aero 50. Only the inner pulley half was included with ramp plate and bushing. Does the modification include using the STOCK OUTER HALF ?...sounding like a newb... :urban: ...So then, where is the advantage ?...in the back side of the inner half where the rollers travel ?...and does this improve take-off ?...mid-range?...top end ?...all ?.. :?:

By stock "outer half" I am assuming you mean the gear-like wheel that the belt wedges between? If so, yes, that remains stock. All I did was swap my stock weights into the ruckus vari, do a bit of grinding on the case and slap it onto the shaft. Stock pulley boss fits right in as well. Then reassemble everything in reverse order of disassembly. I noticed better all around performance.

Works well with the stock Ruckhus ramp plate? (center hole/ crank shaft hole being larger that the Aero crank shaft)

Mine was on a 94 elite. I don't have an aero so couldn't tell you from that particular experience.

Yes, use the ruckus ramp plate. The af05 boss will keep the various centered. The stock af05 ramp plate can bind in the ruck various. There is not enough length.
