Aero to spree

Post by dirtbikemikebike »

Will an Aero motor fit into a Spree ? Will it fit nicely, or is there some modification to be made?

That's a good swap. It will fit, you need to do some rework to the motor mount.

what motor did the Aero come with?

I ask because I'm in the process of fitting a Dio SR motor (AF18) to my 1980 Spree. The mounts are definately different... I think I will have to cut the Dio mount and weld the Spree mount onto it.

Did you ever get to finishing this project?

It would be sweet if you had some tips for me! :)

the aero should have a af05 motor which is the older version of the motor we call the dio now.Parts from the af05 motor can actually fit on a dio motor.
