1984 Honda spree starter issue

Post by lovemyelite50 »

Hello, I have an 84' spree. When I go to start it and it starts, the starter hangs over and keeps spinning until I shut it off and start it again. But after I start it again the starter still stick for 5 seconds

The kick starter's internal mechanism. Remove the kick starter arm, take the transmission belt case off and disassemble the kicker gears so you can give the bushes and shafts a good degrease and clean up. Ask what is a suitable grease/lubricant to repack and assemble the kicker (dry-lube, lithium grease...any suggestions here guys?)

That is because the kick starter has nothing to do with it. The electric starter bendix is your problem. Look it up in the manual.
