Gears with a heavier rider

Are 6.9:1 gears too tall for a heavier rider? I'm just under 250lbs and slowly dropping more lol. Marked the variator And The belt is about 1/2 inch or so from the end. Just started working on my scooter again. Done break in and it's running really well. Got a trailtech vapor coming to watch rpms and cht's. Right now with the gears it'll run about 75kmh flats. 60ish uphills which isn't bad but my variator isnt maxing out. Still have a stock torque spring in it, planning on trying a 1 or 1.5k. For weights I'm running 6g now I think. I have 7's and 9's. I think I need heavier I believe. I'm running a 50mm piston and mini stroker crank in a af24. The stock gearing was really low that's why I swapped them out.

8.4:1 gears would be better for a 250lb rider :imo:

top speed should be close to 100kph

sounds to me like your rollers are too heavy for a stock spring.
tall gears and 250lb rider dont mix very well.

For the stock torque spring? Do you think I can get the 6.9:1's to work at all?

yes, change the clutch springs and center spring out and do a 7x9 combo on the weights=8.5gr.
