Saw an ad on CL for a 1989 spree

I called the number in the ad and spoke with a man who told me the spree ran when it was put away last year, but now wont start. My favorite

He sent me a pic, and right away I saw it was a 1987 spree.


He told me that the scooter would run if I replaced the tubes, pin, and set the carb timing.

The original asking price was $200. I counter offered $50. I brought it home for $100

I also got the service manual!

I've never had one of these before.



Now wheres the section that tells how to set the carb timing pin.

God I hate timing a carb. Cleaning is one thing, but man, timing those suckers is a b****!

Read the manual cover to cover and I adjusted the carb jet pin, for the timing, to the best of my ability.

It is running great now, and even has some turn signals.

I plan to just fix this one up a bit and sell it, I am too big for the spree

I saw that on Cl too. 1989 I text him to see if he had any pictures and I received no reply. When do you plan on selling it?
