Question on my new old 1984 Honda Aero 50cc

Just bought a 1984 Honda Aero 50 scooter.

The things seems to run great, but I have one small issue that I think is very fixable, I just need some advice..

When the scooter is cold it takes a while to start, I usually use a combination of the electric starter and the kick start...it will always eventually get going but it just takes some time.

After I've been riding a while and the motor is warmed up, and if I'm running errands or something making frequent stops, I can always get the motor to start right up, no problem.

It's just that cold start that I'm having issues with. Any thoughts?

most likely culprit is the auto bystarter. the black electrical component attached to the top of hte carb. It is an automatic choke that when cold allows more fuel to start the engine then as the engine warms up it extends a brass needle that shuts off the passage that delivers extra fuel
