Hey all, I am new to the forum and scooter world, i Recently bought an 07 metro with no paperwork and a 93 elite with everything needed. Both scooter run but the elite is very very slow, like 20mph max, and im not sure why. I have pulled the motor off with the intetions of either swapping the metro motor into the elite or buildng the elite's motor. So the question i am wondering is what is the engine code on my 93 elite sr? (sa50 se50 or other) And which way would be more cost effective in making the elite faster?(swap or upgraded rebuild) Thank you

Also i am wondering if anyone has a picture of their engine code location so i know for the future.

the 93 elite model is sa50 and hte engine code is af05e located right behind the kickstart cover in front of hte rear wheel on the engine case. leave the motor in the metro :P if anything swap a 94-01 elite af16 engine into the 93 elite. bbk for the 93 elite is limited to 65cc though with a few mods you can get the 93 to do around 40mph

thank you i found the code, what parts will fit this motor? Ive seen parts for se50 and sa50 as well as different engine codes. The only reason i would be swapping the elite motor is because i cannot drive it on the road due to no paperwork and it has electrical issues. Is that a hard swap?

swapping to an af16 motor isnt all that hard if you can find one. Not sure about the metro engine. if i am not mistaken the cylinder and piston for the 85-87 nb50 aero and the se50 elite would work on the 88-93 sa50 since they are basically the same engine.

The Metro swap can be done but takes a bit more fabrication skill. Building an elite engine will give you more performance than the metro. Use the metro rear wheel for a little more top speed on the elite. Check compression in the elite engine.

Sorry i keep getting the members names and scooter parts places confused

Looking over the SIP website, i saw a few alternatives for the exhaust will those fit as well, im parshall to the racing exhaust.

Also i saw that thier exhausts fit a wide array of scooters has anyone put this exhaust on an afo5e engine with no fabrication?

Not that i am doubting any information given i am just covering all my bases before purchase.

yes the leo vince sp3 was specifically made for the af05 any of those other pipes you see will have to be cut and the stock header welded on
