Hello i am new to the forum and have a 1993 elite sr, the motor is out now and ready for a rebuild, i havent been able to locate a BBK for this scooter. I have looked through the links provided by the forum but alas i have come up empty. I am not looking to go crazy fast just keep up with traffic.(before the motor was pulled i was lucky to get 25 on flat roads forget hills i could have pushed faster :surprise: ) Are the elite and rios the same engine? How difficult would it be to swap my metro motor into my elite? Which way would be more cost effective?
If there is anyone in the Rhode Islnd area that knows how to work on the scooters or do the swap let me know. Thanks. :2thumbs:

Greetings:

RedEftPerformance can sell you a Malossi 47mm/65cc top end that should meet your performance goals, as long as your goals don't exceed about 45 MPH. Welcome to the Forum.

Dont waste money on a out dated motor. Just buy a af16 and spend the same and get twice the performance.

You act like the AF16 motor is under every rock, it's not so you recommendation is worthless.

You just need to know what rocks to look under. Besides that you can make a 50cc af16 top out at 50 with a milled head, variator and gears

And you can make an AF05 top out at 45 mph with only a variator roller change and a carb rejet. I'm sure 50 is possible with a milled head.

You would need a gear change to go that fast.

And Taz has that gear available, I have one waiting to go into my Spree.
