Rapping sound in motor???

I have noticed a sound in the motor when I let up on the throttle or at high speed. The best way for me to describe it is to say it sounds like when you put a popsycle stick or closepin in your bike spokes when you were a kid.

Dosen't really souind like a knock or a definite rap but it there for sure like I said when I let up on the throttle or at high speed or when going like heck down a hill.

If I rev it up on the s in my yard it sometimes sounds like a rattle under the motor shroud.tand

Can anyone tell me if it is a major problem or what it might be. This is my first Spree and the only thing I could compare it to is a Vespa I had years ago and it never made that noise.

sounds like an exhaust leak, check the gasket and use lock washers on all exhaust bolts.

I'm betting on the exhaust gasket too.

Thanks for the info guys.

One other question. I checked the petcock and fout it to be leaking. Well let's put it this way. If I open the drain plug for the carb gas just keep coming out. When I disconnect the gas line and the vac line the gas just keeps flowing. Can I assume the petcock is gone and if so do you know where I can get another one. I need the one with the larger nut on it.
