Flat Front Tire?

Post by sun4fj »

I had a Honda dealer install 2 new tires, and tubes on my 1986
Honda 49cc Spree Scooter. Unfortunately - the mechanic apparently pinched the front tube when he installed it. Honda dealer, in Watertown, NY - is a 40 mile trip.

HOW HARD AND HOW, is it to take front tire off or open it up - so that
I can patch the tube? I do have a small set of motorcycle 12" tire
irons and a patch kit.

I can't see how to open tire up - without messing with the
brakes, cables, etc.

HELP! :(

Removing the wheel is dead easy. Remove front cable and speedo and drop it out. A new 10" tire can be a bear to remove though. I've done them, you need 2 (preferably three) MC tire irons.

You shouldn't be messing with it though. You should take it back and make them fix it.

Tire Problem -

Post by sun4fj »

I took your advice - I'm taking ND-50 1986 Spree back to
Honda dealer tomorrow - for a "TIRE REPAIR".

Wouldn't you think a Honda dealer mechanic - would know how
to install a new tire and new tube!!!!! Years ago when I worked
as a Exxon guy - I must have installed 500 car tires. Pinching the
tube was a no brainer!

Thanks,
Fred
Cape Vincent, NY

PS - how much would a VERYY GOOD SHAPE 1986
Honda Spree 49cc ND-50 - get on the market these
days? I may sell it this season. We've taken very
good care of it - and it has 2600 miles on it. New tires,
new tubes, new front brake, tuned, 2 baskets, mirrors,
cover. Summer snow birds - it only gets used 5 month
maybe once a week - all summer. Then back to winter
inside storeage.

Fix that biaooch yourself, you could have 'er all fixed up and braaap'in down the road by the time you waste an 80 mile round trip to the dealer. Don't be a puzzy!

^^^^^^

Don't listen to him. If you do not know what you are doing, have someone do it who DOES.

I say if you pay to have a job done, it should be done right or a refund issued.
