EFI Kit?

I'm looking at getting a '85 Spree in Wisconsin, and I stumbled across some EFI kits to replace the carb, I was wondering, does this actually have any performance enhancements over the stock carb? Or would I better off investing in something else? (ie Exhaust, Turbo).

This is the kit I'm looking at: http://www.ecotrons.com/files/SE-EFI-in ... Manual.pdf

If you want speed, steer away from a Spree. Better off with an Elite or small motorcycle.

AEM better watch out timmy and his soldering iron are going big time :bowrofl: If this kit even does work it not going to help the spree in anyway... spree needs longer legs and more power to even think about 40 :thumbwink:

For the $300, you'd be better off swapping in a Dio engine.

If I had my Class M, I would go with a Motorcycle, as it's only a few hundred more than what I'm paying for the Spree. DMV doesn't do checks after you register it do they?

Bad advice, in some states including Washington if you exceed 30 mph on a 50 cc you can be cited. The provision for the 50cc without endorsement is for 30mph or less. Check your States laws regarding this.

Last night I was able to push it to 35, The only mod on it that I've seen so far is a different air filter.

That's bad new filter means more air less fuel in some cases which means short life span of rings and piston

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that happen if your mixture is off? In which case wouldn't I just be able to tune the carb?

I don't have the stock airbox, as I just bought it and I just recieved the key, title and moped, nothing else.

In Washington state in order to be a moped it has to have pedals. Anything else is a motorcycle.

DMV didn't check anything on my moped, I don't think that I'll have to worry about motor size.
