idle adjustment problem

I've had some previous problems carb related (
http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2424), and ended up taking "noiseguy"'s advice and getting a rebuilt carb from Greg. After getting it hooked up, she fired right up. The problem is, with the air screw ALL the way in, and the idle screw about 3/4 of a turn out, I'm still idling a little high. I'm assuming it's a vacuum leak. Where can I have a vacuum leak from? I've checked the intake, vacuum line going to petcock, the o-ring on the spacer, and the air cleaner area, with no apparent way of air getting in. Am I wrong, and it's not a vacuum leak, and if that's the case, what's else could be going on?

There is only one line as far as vacuum related..its the line from the intake but as far as your screw settings..the intial settings should be 1.5 turns out from all the way in to start with. Make sure you have the carb gasket on right too.(not rubber to rubber)

When I set the screws to the specs in the manual (1 1/2 - 1/7/8 turns out), my poor Spree tries to take off! It revs up really high, and the only way to slow it down is to screw the air screw all the way in, and the idle screw almost all the way in. As for the carb gasket/spacer, it's on correctly. The o-ring looked to be in pretty good shape, too.

Shouldn't the slot in the slide be down? I'm assuming so, to make room for the idle adjustment screw. Am I wrong?

there is actually two ways to install the slide..the right way and the wrong way. Make sure you put it in the right way..you will know because the slide will drop farther down one way more than the other.
