Hi, i recently bought a 86 honda aero 50 off craigslist for 150 with bad rings. I replaced the rings and it fired up first try, im having a problem when i run wide open throttle around 30ish mph it feels like someone turned the key off and then i let off the throttle and it turns back on.
what could it be? it was missing intake tube and air box when i got it would that cause that? too much air.
also i know this is a newb question and i tried searching, how do i check the crankcase oil level? never had a 2 stroke before
thanks!

There is no crankcase oil level. You have a fuel tank and an oil tank. A 2 stroke mixes the fuel and oil as it is sucked into the crankcase thus lubricateing the internal components. If you used premix you would not have an oil tank and mix the oil with the fuel.

Perhaps he meant transmission oil level?
Please download your manual. I think this might be the link for it.

Section 3-4 shows how to check your transmission case oil level.

did you put on an air box and intake tube? If not the motor will run lean and hot, possibly why it needed new rings. The right quantity of air. fuel and oil is essential for longevity.

Honda doesn't recommend any time/distance changing intervals for the oil in the transmission???

If you actually bring the bike over when you come over I might be able to help.
