'86 Aero 50 upgrades?

Hi, I've been searching around and confusing myself so I thought I'd just ask like my mom taught me.
So far the only things I really know about are a variator swap and the metro wheel conversion(thanks to smasher04). I've read a bit about motor swaps/upgrades but am a bit lost on all of it.
I'm not looking to make the fastest Aero out there but I'd love to see what I can fit into it.

My 86 has a DDX variator (41.1g total) with a Leo Vince pipe, Met wheels front and back with a bigger front brake from a 99 elite. Mounted a set of Heidenau K61's (90/90) on the wheels with an HID light (not recommended if you aren't comfortable doing wiring) that can run off a LiPo battery or off the bike's battery.
I found that the 90/90 up front cancels out the optimistic speedo, so it tends to read pretty close to accurate now when compared to GPS.
The bike gets up pretty well, and can hang with all but the lead footed drivers, seems to top out around 43 on flat ground. Light hills (I'm in San Diego - so we have some decent hills) don't seem to affect it... I get up moderate hills around 32-35mph... and steep hills (10% grade) are somewhere around 25-28 mph. I'm a 215lb rider and tend to cruise around 3/4 throttle to maintain speed.
Beyond that... you can do a 65cc kit on the stock motor... you'll want to upgrade your carburetor to something that has a removable pilot jet and re-gear.
What are your goals?
