My 2000 honda elite sa50p starts and runs for 30 secs then dies, and i cant seem to figure out what the problem is can some1 please help.........

have you clean the carb ??? id it run before???

Yes i cleaned the carb twice now....and yes i ran like a champ b4.....i had a piston circlip blow out and messed up cylinder but i got new cylinder, piston, rings n circlips and it was running fine after that...but after month n half or so it started to overheat i think becuz id ride it for 30-45mins and itd bog down and die and would be hot as *....i replaced the oil seal behind the variator and now like i said i start it up itll run for 30secs to a min then bog down n die.....

is it a stock motor ???? pull the plug and see what color it is .. is the plug wet or dry????? is the carb set to the book ??

Its a stock motor only thing ive done to it was derestrict it but it ran fine for the longest time....The spark plug is turning slight brown and is slighty wet.....the carb is set by the book air/fuel screw is 1 3/4 -1 7/8 turns..

did you up jet the carb???? it did not run fine you said it over heated ..... the slide were it the pin set????

check the petcock too it could be running out of gas from the petcock being bad

it was running fine like i said but when the overheating started bout 2-3days is when it started running for 30 secs or so and then bogging down and dying.....I just jetted the carb today replace #68 with #78 and i got it running for bout 3-4mins and then it died down again...i think today it may have been dying down becuz i dont think i got the right air fuel setting for the new air filter i put on it when i upped the jet, do u happen to know how many turns for aftermarket air filter?.....
And what do u mean by the slide were it pin set?...And the peacock is fine i checked it and its flowing fuel good.......

It sounds to me that you could have damaged the bore. I think you need more oil sounds like it is lean. Compression Check?

i got new cylinder jug on it......and how much oil do i premix in gas for unrestricted with 78 jet?.....oh yeah btw do any of yall know how to remove oil pump gear from crankcase without removing crankshaft?

you unbolt the oil pump and the geared shaft comes out with it

i wood leve the oil pump in ... when it starts dose it idle???? the slide and pin are the things that is on the gas cable ...

Check the plugs color

well i unbolted the oil pump and the gear aint come out with it, thats what i was asking bout it for becuz i need to get the gear out without takin the whole case apart becuz i dont have the flywheel puller for the flywheel on alternator/stator with the woodriff key on it....

swimmingfree- the slide and pin ur talkin bout, do i move it down a notch since i upped the jet becuz it idles high as * and when i turn the throttle its trys to bog down n die? and i already took off the pump so i can replace the crank oil seal behind the variator and the gear shaft is stuck in the case....
