He's just another seller who didnt do his homework before listing it. he will sit on it until he figures it out.

It's unlikely he will get that, but I will say a mint condition Spree sold for $900 from a Denver area Scooter shop. Condition is everything, and this one was a time capsule piece.

Greetings:
It's an '86 WITH a PETCOCK COVER!! He omitted a Zero from his asking price. The Petcock Cover alone is worth $1500.

well sold from Sportique? ... (apples n oranges to those that do research and are patient)...
but those selling are thrilled to hear of unusual sales such as this...

mm.. not sure I totally agree. It's not like mint condition Sprees are in every city of the US just waiting to be purchased. The vast majority of any 80s era scooters I see on CL are weather beaten or just torn up. Every now and then a clean one surfaces, but for the most part I see people asking $200-$500 for beater upers.
Patient, yes, but unless you are buying off eBay and willing to have it shipped, depending on where you live, you could be patient for a long, long time until one finally comes up in your neck of the woods.
Again, I'm not talking just any Spree. The coveted pristine examples.

No worries, we'll agree to disagree.
I've seen quite a few minty ones for far less than $900 as Ebay is NOT where to look...
in fact there were no less than 3 (2 red (one with both baskets)/1 black) on craigslist (just one place to look) minty ones in the metro since late May...Asking prices were $500-$600...all under 1000 miles...and they did not sell quickly....
and yes, many overpriced "beaters"
patience and time ...
Nationwide there are a number of places to look as crossing state lines is an option...
and on the nationwide searches Sprees are much easier to find than certain elites, aeros, jogs, peoples, cobras etc... and the elusive ns....

I think its all in where you live in the US. Prices vary many sprees here in WA in "decent condition" will sell for 600$. "Beaters" will sell for around 300 with a title.
