Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I have a dilema and am asking anyone to chime in.

Currently have a 87 se50p w/ 1200 mi. It has been derestricted and I have also done the metro wheel conversion. It will run around 42mph on the flat.
My question is the same as most everyone else, do I just enjoy it as is and look for a newer elite, or put more parts in this one to get more speed.
I would like to be around 50-55mph. Is the newer elite just a better platform?

The newer elite offers more options for bolt ons. The sa50 stays planted better than the se50.

I just recently purchased a 94 elite sr, its actually really fun to ride compared to my old 89 elite lx when it was stock vs stock. It just seems refined and very stable at all speeds and brakes a bunch load better. And like eliteguy said the performance upgrades are more available for the 94-01s. I bought mine for 500$ with 6100 miles on it, runs like a champ.
