ok, it has a brand new coil, sparkplug, and fresh gas (somewhat new oil). 6months ago, it ran and idled perfectly. after not starting it for a while, it didnt want to even start at all without ether. so i cleaned the carb and found the main jet was clogged. i put it back together and it started easily. however, it wont run continuously and it has a very inconsistent idle(it randomly goes up and down in rpm). i cleaned every part on the carb possible. PLEASE HELP!!! its making me very frustrated and i tried every combination of the air mixture screw with no luck. i have a video of the problem and i will upload it shortly

Drain that old gas out, fill her back up with new. Do you know how to adjust your a/f screw? What did you gap your spark plug to? Look for the honda manual on this site I bet you can follow the trouble shooting steps and find the problem quick.

You have an intake leak at the spacer between the carb and the manifold. Repair the threads on the rear bolt and replace the 2 orings on the spacer and carb.

how do i repair the threads on those? it feels like they are holding pretty tight, and the o rings are still very rubbery, they dont feel like they are rotted. can i spray starting fluid around the carb to test if it is an air leak?

do you have the o ring on the by starter??? it looks off set...
you shood no that the Manuel is a starting point not the end point... start the motor let it worm up then a just the air till the motors rpm goes up then turn down the idle till the tire is just rolling ...

I can see in your video that the rear bolt for the carb is not tight. Those orings are 23 years old so I doubt they are sealing anything. I have 2 sb50p's and an intake leak is the most common issue for it not running correctly aside from a carb that is not clean enough. The pilot port in the carb is the another issue to readdress.
