Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

So, my spree swap was running fine all day. 330 max temp and all. Went to hook the electrical back up to the rectifier to get the lights worker and not it won't run or barely run. It backfires, will start for a few minutes then shut off, and when I when I hold the brake lever down, it runs better than with it released. Any clues on what could be causing this? Checked to see if it was getting spark, and it was, it's getting fuel, it almost seems like the timing is way off.

UPDATE:
Compression test came out good, and it seems the exhaust port was open from my exhaust moving (Lost both bolts on the ride it seems.) So, could that cause the backfire? There was tons of oil/gas that was present on that side.
