Elite SR50 w/ high miles

I am looking at a 2000 Elite SR50 with 9k miles. My questions: is this too many miles? Should I look for something with less? Might it just be full of problems?

The po was an older man that used it around town for 10 years. It is in decent shape body wise and still runs good.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

I had 29,000 mi. on my stock bore and when i went to a bore kit the piston was perfect, i now have over 76,000 mi. on the block x 2 bore kits + 1 crank = you can't kill this engine.

Wow, I would have never of guessed they would last that long. It is a honda though.
What items should I look at in particular on a scoot with this many miles that may be worn out? Lastly, whats a decent price?

Greetings:

If you can get it for $500 (act concerned about the mileage...) you should spring. Any lower and you'll feel guilty.
I dunno if 70K miles is possible but everything but the top end is pretty robust. Things that end the party are few, but if the cases are cracked or the gear sockets are chewed up, it gets expensive. Still a new good-condition engine can be bought/built for a few hundred, and I really don't think there'd be much wrong at 9K.

This time of year I was thinking the same price. This is the deresricted one, right? Should see 40mph stock?
