Greetings:

Never had that exact combo, but 9:1s will be way low for that much lusty Corsa/Scorp power. Even at 11K, my calculations predict a top speed of 64, and you better be sure your Main jet and oiling are generous.

I need to shorten these gears up some.. I didnt notice too much of a difference, going from 6.8 to 1 to 7.5's..i still would like to have the cruising high speed but want the take off as well.. Im guessing 8:4:4 is going to be what i need..oh and in using stock clutch and vari..

Greetings:

I've never had the good fortune to bolt up a Scorpion, but with PG Short and 7.5s the Corsa has enough power to wheelie and aside from 0-5, take-off isn't an issue. Seems to me that even 8.44s are pretty short for your setup. Have you considered 7.97s?

Go with 8-1 trust me you will never take it back off. I love my 8-1. It hits low end and top end. Unless uou want 7-1 which is only top end.

my corsa+scorpion and 8.44 to 1 has done 68mph (with a slight downhill) but take off is still awesome i have to lean in to it on launch other wise it just wheelies.Even at 30mph when i twist the wrist hard it wants to wheelie

perhaps my jetting is too rich and my variator weights are too heavy, because I don't wheelie and I only weigh 185 and i have 9:1 gears with a corsa pg long, and 24oko. I don't get it, I only hit 57mph gps verified at 11,100 rpm after a 1/3 of a mile run, so i'm assuming the variator was maxed out. Suppose I should do the magic marker test to see how high up it goes huh?

If you have too stiff of a contra spring, will it not max out the variator?

What benefits do the zx trans give? Is it worth the extra cash and effort to install? The zx how to guides pictures are gone ):

i havent run without a zx trans so i couldnt tell you sorry .From what i understand the cvt has more room for cvting lol a wider range of ratios .Lower low gear and higher high gear .Well thats what i thought i could be wrong
