In the pursuit of a wider stance on the rear tires for tighter turns and eventually wider tires by installing 3" spacers.
To accommodate the tires not rubbing on the engine cover, the cover was raised 3/4" using brackets.
Before Install
Hardware used:
4 brackets w/4 nuts, 4 lockwashers, 4 fender washers, & 8 bolts, .
6 wheel spacers for a SUZUKI KING QUAD LTZ400 LT80 ATV - http://www.ebay.com/itm/180305920100?ss ... 1439.l2649
Instructions:
1. Remove tire.
2. Remove wheel rubber spacer.
3. Remove Muffler & Engine cover.
3. Install wheel Spacers and wheels. Honda Odysseys have 3 lug hubs and should fit for wider tires.
4. Install 4 brackets to raise the engine cover 3/4".
5. Install Muffler.
6. Install engine cover, Install the rear bolts 1st, then install side bolts & ride.
Ride results: No loss in speed. Better cornering stability. Softer ride.

Re: 3" wheel spacers installed on a Gyro TG50
When the wheel is bolted directly to the hub, the hub flanges become more rigid;
...considering the two thicknesses of metal (wheel and hub flange) become as one.
When the spacers are installed, the hub flanges are going to withstand less impact and stress.
I hesitate to try these because of the lateral forces my hubs are subjected to in racing.
As for street use, I predict some serious bendage should your tag a curb, pothole, etc.
I like the result, just not sure this is a good way to do it.
At least it's the cheapest way,...by far....
Ride carefully, and watch for wobble...

Re: 3" wheel spacers installed on a Gyro TG50
I have a friend who uses the spacers on an ATV and he's drives it hard. It's been 3 months since he installed them with no problems yet while riding on rocky terrain. The Gyro has a different, but better feel while tilting into a corner. The smoother ride is a major plus... My wife had the same skeptical thoughts about the mod and she said keep her TG50 stock, which is cool with me! I'll keep you informed if any issues come up.

Re: 3" wheel spacers installed on a Gyro TG50
We currently have 4 Gyros and the NN50 is the wife's and she also has a 86 Black TG50. The word is, "Leave my Gyro's alone!!! So I can only play w/my 2 TG50s 85 black (which I have done some mods too) & a stock 86 red ... I'm building a 3rd 85 black TG50 that will be a total modifications, 150cc engine (from a Vogue), wide 8" tires , 12" front wheel w/Monkey forks, Ruckus front lights, digital speedo, Ballistic battery and powder coated frame. I'll post it when I get it done, it will be a while. I started riding Gyros in 1985, lived on a Navy bases around the world and the speed limit on any base is 20 mph so they are the perfect vehicle as you all know.
