got a 1985 nb50 aero as u guys call it (we call it the vision over here). i want to change my rollers, will 7.5gram be enough or should i go heavier/lighter ? i want a little more top end speed, i think all the restrictions are off, other than the rollers are there any more cheapish/mild modifications i can do to get that extra 5-10mph out of it, everything is stock at present.

Greetings:
If everything is really Stock, jacking with the roller weight won't change the power available or the aero drag at speed. Therefore unless Honda-san seriously miscalculated when he chose the (10 grams in the US models...) roller weights, your speed won't change one whit by going lighter or heavier.
The variator either maxes out:
1. At the right time,
2. Too soon if the weights are too heavy - slow acceleration, or
3. Too late if the weights are too light - maybe quicker pick-up but the RPM at which the variator maxes cannot be reached with the stock pipe and/or carb. It's like trying for top speed, only in 3rd gear (of 5).
An aftermarket variator of slightly larger diameter and a fatter (90/90 x 10) rear tire can POTENTIALLY increase top speed, but only if all 4.5 of the the Ponies are present. Start with a clean air filter, decarbonized exhaust, and check your compression against the Factory manual. 70KPH or 43 MPH is pretty good for a healthy Vision.
The best single purchase is RedEft's Malossi 65cc kit for Vision. To go faster, a LeoVince 4447 pipe and an Arreche-for-Honda 17.5 carb can pump up the Pony population a littlemore. Those things can get it to 84KPH/53 MPH once you re-tune the variator to the engine's new RPM sweet spot. Not cheap-ish, I guess, but that's the price of improved performance.

yes the speefight exhausts do fit, the gianelli sports exhaust will probably be the best "cheap mod" you can do heres a link for one,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-SPEED ... 5897a6d7d9. other than that you can take the restrictor washer out of the variator (wich i did when i came round and fixed your variator problem), my wifes son has the same scoot as you but with a 100cc engine from the speedfight100, that gets him to around 55-60mph no problem, took him 6 months to do the swap though and getting it through a MOT will be interesting, to put a 100cc in there is alot of work involved but is worth it. just put the rear wheel off the 50cc onto the 100cc engine if you do this.
