What model engine would a 92(ish) dio have?

Anyone know what engine a 92ish dio would have?
I need a fan cowl for my AF-18E engine.
I've tracked down a guy with a 92 dio, with a broken engine. But he's not in my town.
Would it have the same fan shroud, or something else?

The AF 16 bowed in Canada in 1992, while America was languishing for 2 more years of the AF05. Different markets saw different engines appear in different years. Perhaps NZ got the 16 or 18 earlier too. Can you not simply ask the seller to read the inscription on his gear cover?

Hi fireblade, I am always on the hunt for DIO/AF18 parts in CHCH. Were is this Dio. Do you have one or any other parts? I wouldnt mind an AF18 to build up while im still driving my scooter. Cheers Ayden.

Did you get my reply to your PM?
The bike is in Auckland. And the guy can't go see it until the weekend. I'd really like to expedite the process if it will work.
Perhaps a better question is, will the fan cowl from a 1992 ish dio, fit my AF-18E engine?
It's peak scooting season here atm. And I wanna get the scooter it's destined for back together, tarted up, and sold.

yes the cowls off a 92 dio will fit so long as it is a dio

I'll tell the guy to grab them for me this weekend. I also need a starter motor too.
I swapped the ZX motor back into my Dio tonight. It kicks the s*** out of the motor out of the crashed Dio that I was running in it.
Can I get you to go ahead and score me that Performance variator/belt/Grab spring kit mate? It almost hits 60kph with this engine. I can't wait till it can run with traffic down Brougham st, without me having to hug the shoulder.

i git the same kit for NZHONDA (ayden) he went from 55 to 65all day and 70 with a good run

Yes that is very true. I just put on this kit that paulpauly7 got me and it is an awesome improvment. Well worth the dollars and effort involved. From a stock 50km/h changed to 65km/h in less than 45mins.

Canada had AF18.
My '88 has an AF18 also.

the 88 dj1rr also got the af18e in the se50 frame
