Carb Leaks out of bottom hole

Can anyone tell me why after I have the scooter running for a while that it appears to flood itself out to where the gas in my tank leaks out the bottom of my carb.

There is a hole in the carb that is on the bottom of the float bowl that it leaks out of.

Greetings:

The lower-most hole in the bowl is actually a deliberate leak - it's the bowl drain. There's a screw with an o-ring that's supposed to seal this. If it's leaking elswehere, then it's overfilling due to a faulty float needle/valve and petcock. However if it drains bone-dry and stops, it's just the drain stopper that's missing or has a bad o-ring.

The bowl drain is not the hole that it is coming out of. If I drain the carb and start it up it will run fine for a while and then when I give it gas it starts to bog down and eventually stalls and then I see gas leaking out of the carb.

Sounds like the hose for the float bowl overflow is possibly "the bottom hole" as it does exit at the bottom of the carb and is hard to see. I'm willing to bet you have 1 of a few problems or all of them. Any and all of them are pretty easy fixes.
1, the seat for the needle valve is Junked up - polish seat
2, the needle valve is toast- replace needle valve after polishing the seat to make sure you diddnt just have problem 1
3, the float is toast and full of junk (water, fuel or both) - replace float
4, the pin the float hinges on is jamming in the float. Polish the pin in a drill with 1500 or 2000 grit wet dry paper and oil

Check out the wiki on polishing the seat in the carb with toothpaste and a cotton swab, you might just fix the problem. And at least you can trouble shoot the carb while you have it apart. You'll get it figured out don't worry.

Greetings:

I think you'll find that nozzle leads to a stand-pipe in the bowl. It's there to provide egress for fuel if it overfills due to a faulty float valve system. Otherwise the fuel would flow up the carb throat and fill up your crankcase. Blow into it and see if this is correct. Then fix your float valve issue as Pat suggested.

Clean the float needle seat with tooth paste
