Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

Hi I am currently looking at my options for a Big Bore Kit for my SE50. As I understand it a kit that is compatible with an SA50 88-93 model should be compatible.

I am from Australia, so importing from Asia is easiest for me, so I have been looking at the Scooter Assassins website.

On their site I have gone to:

It lists a 70cc(43mm) Big Bore kit for this model. Thing is, it is exactly the same kit that is listed for the later model Elites and Kymcos.

So I am having problems believing that this is actually going to be compatible with my SE50 and it is probably being listed in the wrong section.

Any thoughts?

the se50 has a 10 mm rist pin the sa50 has a 12 mm rist pin... and lots of other thing are diffident as well ...
so one will not work on the other ... i think

the se50 kit that is 46mm piston is 63cc so how can a 43mm be 70cc.. i get 55cc

You didnt specify your SE's model year nor did you note the engine code from the tranny case. Some countries got the AF 16 engine in an SE50 model frame as early as 1990 or '91. Check that code . Oz probably got the AF05, but maybe you get lucky and you have a 16 or 18 engine?

Asian vendors often overstate ccs. Displacement varies with stroke as well as bore.

Just had a look at the engine code, it is an AF05E.

Yeah I presumed that 70cc was an over statement, I just have my doubts that the kit will work with the AF05 (I believe that is the same engine from the SA50 Elites from 88-93).

I am thinking the listed kit is really for a 94+ Elite (AF16 Engine).

I live in sydney and i need the same info as yourself log bomb, i can't find any reference to the AF05 anywhere.

you wont find kits listed under af05e. it will be under honda vision or honda dj1. and yes the 88-93 sa50 has the same motor as the se50. only the af19 dj1rr came with a af18 small crank 1gen dio motor.

dj1rr is a dam nice bike theres a couple blowing around where i live got to track one of the owners and try to buy one

I noticed it said 70cc and the piston size is 43mm. Thats only 2 full sizes bigger than stock. Hmm thats a bit fishy
