Spree Plates Lost & Mis-titled

I just pulled out my spree today for the first ride, and it became an adventure, it died in the middle of the road because of what I later found to be a hose vibrated off of the petcock. Then as I pulled up the the driveway I realized... I have no plate. To be honest I don't really see what there is to do because my title is off, and the plate is gone... If I file for a lost plate is that going to look bad? I was originally going to just file for a lost title, but now with the plate gone I have a feeling that there is alot more on my plate (see what I did there?
) Any ideas on what I should do?

go to the dmv and ask whats required. All states seem to be different

It's in WI. From the sounds of it, I have to go to the PD, and file for a lost plate. Anyone have any experiences with Salvage Titles?

Getting new titles in WI is a PITA process I am told. I have seen people trying to find a frame with a title because of the headache.
