Alright i have a 87 honda aero 50. I bought it off of craigslist so it is a little worn. the rear wheel is the problem, it is a tube in a tubeless rim. i was wondering what could be contributing to the constant violent bursts of the inner tube. i first got it from the guy, then i used it about 7 miles then i parked it. aboout 30 seconds after it was parked i heard a hissing sound from the tire. i opened the tire, which btw is totally wrecked on the inner part from the last owner not knowing how to use tire irons causing the tire to not be able to hold a seal, hence the innertube, anyways the tube is wrecked, an inch slit that looked like an L was on the inner part of the tube facing the rim. i patched it up then put it back on. i put air in the tire, then low and behold the same spot was popped through the patch. this time it was a O shaped hole. i took off the original patch and replaced it. finally i rode around today from 15 minutes after successfully having the scooter hold air and run as usual. i went inside for 30 minutes, went back outside and while i was checking out my scooter i hear that dreaded hissing. i do not know what is causing this. i checked the rim no sharp edges or anything. i think the tube might be pinched inside of the tube. please help i have no idea what is causing this! and if anyone has a replacement rear tire for a honda aero 50 that would be cool because i believe the rim is bent too. should i just buy a new tire and rim all together? help

There is totally an issue either a pinched tube, or something in the tire like a piece if wire or something. Sometimes when you get a tire on a wheel it doesn't center when you air it up, so it feels bent. When you install tube and tire, are you using lots of soapy water? Sometimes a little brake fluid on the tire beads is needed to help the bead get seated straight and even. Make sure the tube is not twisted and the valve stem is lined up square with the hole. A replacement tire may help.

Yes, the wider, tubeless-capable Met will bolt on as a worthwhile upgrade. 90/90 tire fits best. Maybe have to modify centerstand a little, but totally worth it.

The rim is different - wider and tubeless bead - but it fits at the hub and creates no hard clearance issues.

The Met front wheel works too, but you must procure a '94-later Elite brake panel to match the 95mm hub drum diameter. With performance mods, I consider this a Must. The 90/90 will kiss the Aero front fender if you hit a hard bump while braking, but not so bad that you crack the plastic.
