Hi, i decided to take a look at my spree piston because of low compression. So i take everything off and i get to the piston and discover scratches all over the piston and the..... I want to say crank case.....sorry if I'm wrong i cant think of the correct word. Well any way i was wondering if i needed a new crank case.... And a new piston. I know for shure i need new rings. But does anyone have JUST rings for the stock 41mm piston. Here is a video off of youtube of my spree.... http://youtu.be/m_zbBzK9oTc

You need a new piston and new rings, those pistons all look toast. You will need to remove the aluminum from the cylinder walls then you will need to deglaze the cylinder after that. While you could just buy a piston and rings, I think you might me better off with the whole kit cylinder, piston, rings ,gaskets every thing in one box

The only thing that needs to happen with the kit is the cylinder base gasket needs to be cut to match the ports on the cylinder. Its very simple but has to be done for the motor to breathe properly as the gasket is wrong for the cylinder but can be made right in about two minutes ;-)

I think its a quick easy way to get back up and running. You won't have to mess around with the worn out cylinder. Its more expensive than a piston and rings kit but all you have to do with the whole kit is cut the base gasket install the piston bolt the cylinder down and start breaking it in. Of course you need to oil the piston, pin, bearing and cylinder with two stroke oil first ;-) I have one of those kits, but I haven't installed it, the big bore kit got put in first ;-) that stock kit seems legit though. Shipping only took a couple days to Canada so you will get pretty fast.
