72cc 24mm OKO tuning ?s

Post by BAMFChuddy »

I ordered a bunch of stuff for my moped, and i was wondering if anyone can give me some good advice on where to start.

I have an 89 Elite E sb50p that i swapped a af16e into. Right now it has a 2g polini clutch, Kelli Variator with 6g rollers, 9 to 1 gears, and a oil pump plug.
I ordered a 72cc MHR aluminum BBK, a 24mm OKO carb, Simonini expansion chamber, Trail tech tach, intake, and other little things like jets and cables. And i will be using a Uni filter

What I would like to know, is where should i start with jetting my carb? I have 32, 34, 35, 38, 40, 45, 48, 50, 52, and 55 for idle jets. For main jets i have 120, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 150, 160, 170 & 180(hopefully i didnt order to big). What spark plug should i use? How long would be a good break in time for the aluminum bore? What ratio premix should i use? I already use 40 to 1 premium gas mix.

Please lmk what u guys think, And if there is anything else i should know, please tell me.
Thanks in advance!!! :coolcruise:

spark plug ngk b8hs or b9hs.

tuning is trail and error on your own scooter and rider only.
good to start rich jetting pilot/main jets, better than screw up big dollar boar...

start pilot 52 and main jet 145.

tuning may vary on rider weight and scooter riding located where you live, elevation above sea level, weather seasons do affect the carb tunning and premix ratio is your choice..

I do perfer 32:1 premix ratio, better lube moving internal parts, crank bearings, piston, rings, bore kit..

hawaii season tropical climate differ than mainland weather.

here are sunny day, cloudy nice weather every day day and night 365 day, jetting not much hassle to tune.
, if you cant ride everyday in your city ( crazy weather winter/fall) Just move to hawaii! :naughty:
