Honda spree starting issue with kick start

My 86 spree wont start now. I lent it to a friend to ride around while i was gone and when I got back it wont kick start or electric start. of course he has no idea why its not working. when i kick start it it gets stuck down, so i greased it up and still the same issue. when i trie to use the electric start the kick start pedal actually moves and makes a grinding sound. any help on how to fix this or point me in the direction of the issue would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

pull the cover off and have a look

I did to grease the components and it didn't look like anything out of the ordinary

pull the cover and look at were the spring is hook to the cover ... a photo will help us help you ... and a photo of the end of the crank were the e little nub are as well...

Check the kick start shaft bushing in the cover. If it's worn, it can cause binding.
