Hi, i am having a problem with my 1985 honda spree. My spree runs fine most of the time, but will often randomly " die " i then try to start it again ( electric start only ) and the battery is almost dead so the spree hardly turns over. I will then walk the spree back to my house, jump start it and it acts like nothing ever happend. I then go and ride it again. Battery dies and it wont turn over. It doesnt mater how long i charge it. It will die and not want to start. I am thinking that this could be the stator. Im not shore, i have another off an 86 spree if you think that will solve it. Thank you for any help. - Erik

Well when i try to start it wide open. ( i have read that before ) the spree will have even less energy to turn over. But the battery holds a charge. I just got home from totonto today after about 5 days. Charged the spree battery before i left and i got home. And it started just fine. Rode it up and down the street. Come back. Shut it off and got some gloves. Came back and tryed to start it and the battery didnt have enough power to turnover the spreee engine fast enough.

My headlight does not work. The battery is only a few months old. The guy i bought it off Craig's list ended up buying me one. I cleaned all ground connections. Including the one behind the tail light inside the frame. And the one bellow the turn signal relay. I do not have a battery cover, i never like to ride in the rain anyways. My soree is keept in a garage. Never outside.
