Hiya everyone.
Sold my aero awhile back, but I'm back here to share some info once I get some honda cdis.
I have been getting into documenting oem Cdi boxes timing curves. I have heard thru a friend that some honda boxes have a substantial retarding timing curve.
This is a great thing because by retiming the scooter to advance the low end, the top end timing will still retard to a safe level, allowing much higher rpms, while still running cool. You can remove the woodruff key, and advance the flywheel to get incredible low end power and still have great retarding timing of 16deg or less at high rpm.
Most modern scooter cdis have about a 6 deg retarding curve. I've seen some expensive boutique cdis like hpi that have up to 30deg. Supposedly some honda cdis have around 20deg.
Has anyone charted out the timing on any of the spree/aero boxes?
