I notice the low beam on my 86 Spree not working, switched to high beam and it lit up then went off. Any way to check and see if the headlight is good? i got zip continuity between any of the three leads coming out of the light.

Green is common ground so you should get cont. Between green and either of the other two leads. Sounds like if you have no cont its toast. You could always use a battery charger on the leads to test if you are unsure. You did the right thing by checking continuity.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the low beam burned out and as soon as i switched on the high beam, the voltage burned it out too. Now the question is where in the world to find a replacement lamp. Cheap Cycle Parts says no longer available. Will research until i find something.

I'm sure you can get a used one here. Martynkim will likely have what you need. Check through the regulator maybe its toast cashing over voltage
