Some info for you Spreetards:) Enjoy:)
Bought and installed the 1k springs as mentioned here:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=28049&p=244232&hili ... gs#p244232
Took actual measurements of all, Length, Dia, Wire dia all in mm
Orig. 29.35, 8.7, 1.55
Blue 31.26, 10.3, 1.77
Red 32.47, 10.51, 2.0
Yellow 31.86, 10.56, 2.04
I simply hit with a hammer on a piece of wood until the top bent over a bit and then cut of the extra to get them shorter. I did nothing about the fact that they sit on the shoes because of their increased diameter, you may be able to trim it out a bit to get them to fit but it really doesn't touch much.
Almost imperceptible delay in take off now but much better because the old set up would start just above idle. A little chatter at first but seems to be clearing up, could use a new belt and I may have grease on something.
Not bad for $14 and I didn't have to screw my stock springs although you can probably get the same results by shortening them.
The next time I'm in there, I'll probably make some more clearance for the increased diameter, use higher rate springs and shorten a little more properly.
Pics to follow...
