Reed block spacers

Post by LMH »

Has anyone made one for the AF16e? If so how much and where can I find one. Ive come to a point in porting out a kymco block and have just about run through the bottom, Im calling it a waste but would like to know about a spacer to add some volume to the intake tract. I know on the morini and minas you just cut out a couple reed blocks and use them as a spacer with longer hardware. Im interested if you can do the same or if you want to keep it stock and as low as you can so the flow doesnt lose velocity. With these side port windows its hard for me to guess which will actually be beneficial with out doing it. Im sure a few tweaks would be needed in the end.
Its 45 out today but not sure I want to spend the day doing something that will net nothing if someone else has already done the leg work.

Heres one for a blaster by pro designs I bought. I plan on using it on the super aggressive ported cylinder to help with low end as long as it doesnt disrupt velocity up high.

Add material from the underneath where the variator is. There is enough room so you can get a couple more millimeters with porting.

The goal is to add more volume before the intake, keeping the reed as close to the carb as possible for faster transition. Keith do you have any pics of any modified engine blocks? I'm going to get some welds going on the kymco block and see what I get. Thanks for the input!
