New Headlight option NH80 perhaps others

Post by treekiller »

Well I had to replace the headlight assembly in my Euro spec Honda Lead. I was going to convert to US Spec sealed beam, but when I found that these are not only more expensive (if you can even find a new one) but have to be tossed when they burn out. unlike the stock Euro spec that has a replaceable bulb.

Some have converted to H4 with significant modifications, but I just Found on CMSNL.com the original headlight.. This might be an option for those here in the states that want to convert to a replaceable bulb. sure they are pricey, but they made them until 1992 for the Euro market and the assemblies are plentiful.

part number is 33120-GC7-611

and they shipped it to me from the netherlands in the original Honda box in 4 days. simply amazing!

you have to get a replaceable bulb plug from Napa, (or a junkyard) but some simple wiring is a lot easier then milling out the assembly and gluing in the socket like others have done.

Actually it looks like the NH80 had a different mounting scheme, but that assembly is also available

part number 33100-GC8-621

Or if you just want the light with the replaceable socket (I don't know if the stock USDM bracket will bolt on) but for the price difference it's nice to get the Socket, and daytime running light which is a cool euro only option.
