Help I Want to Fix My 84 Honda Spree
I would also like input i purchased a 1984 Honda Spree for $25.00 It looked ok so I brought it I was told by the guy selling it that the only problems with it was it needed a battery and a fuel filter and fuel lines. But when I got it home, I noticed that the throttle isn't moving it's missing the air cleaner sponge. i've ordered a new battery online but i wanted to see if the electronics worked so I connected my 12 volt battery charger to it and tried the starter it didn't turn over not even a sound. The horn worked but when i tried the turn signal the right side the indicator lit but when I tried the left it clicked once then nothing. I tried the kick starter but it wouldn't move either, what could be the reason the kick starter won't move where should I start to try to repair it and do you think it was worth the $25.00. More questions to come later.
Here's my two cents. I just bought my own 85' spree and it had some of the same problems as yours.
For the turn signal I just went to autozone and bought a three dollar indicator relay switch and replaced the old one and now that works fine.
My starter also would not work at all. I guess after sitting for ten years it built up some corrosions on the brushes so I removed the starter and cleaned out all the white corroded junk and now it works fine.
You might need a new throttle cable. If it is anything like a brake cable, both mine were seized and there is nothing you can do to fix that. I had to order two new cables.
Make sure you buy an air filter, and sorry I can't help you about the kick starter. Mine doesn't have one. Good luck and hope this helps.

your kickstart gears are locked up most likely. take off the cover and take a mental picture, remember how those gears go, because if you dont you'll never put her back together correctly, and that will cost you alot. try to get the gears moving and put it back on, should work

Thanks for the Replies they Really Helped
I found the problem with the kickstarter which basically leds me to rebuilding my engine the piston siezed, the piston looks fine but I'll have to replace the connecting rod cause it is cracked so i've begin to take my engine apart I'll keep everyone posted on how it comes out.
