I recently bought a af18e small crank motor (at least i think i did lol) it has a af05 gear cover so no way to tell from that. I just want to make sure it is what its suppose to be. So if you guys could list ways to identify a af18 small crank motor compared to a af05.... what are the differences? any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks!

on a variated af05e the exhaustport flange come out on a angle .The af18 exhaust flange comes out straight .If it has af05e on the rear gear case then it will be a af05e i dought someone swapped the internall gears and cover

how do you know its a polini corsa ? you would have to remove the cylinder and have a look the intake ports where the cylinder bolts down are massive compared to the af05e .A polini corsa has a jp stamped just on the inside of the exhaust port flange .Is the flange straight or does it come out on a angle .A polini corsa piston gudgen pin for af18 is a 12mm the afo5e has a 10mm

its really not likely that someone has changed the gear cover theres a bit of work swapping covers you need to swap all the gears and they need modifing to fit in the af18 case..

on the block behind the starter motor is there a brass tube going into the block ? a af18 has a air line there for the fuel pimp and underfloor fuel tank

Early af18 block use paper gasket between 2 crank cases. Later model use Honda bond sealant..
