Hi everyone,
I am new here and just got into the 2 wheeled world with a 1983 Honda aero 80. Love the bike and I am currently trying to get her in top running order. My local shop went through her and among the several parts they suggested replacing is the throttle cable. I can not find one anywhere! Does anyone know of any other cables that will work from other scooters or have any suggestions as to where I could find one?
Thanks in advance

If you can't find one stateside I've been having good Luck with CMSNL I have the little brother to your bike NH50 and the parts were very hard to find but these guys had them.
http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-nh80md-aero- ... partslist/
partzilla lists it, for more money...
17910-GC8-020 CABLE, THROTTLE
But I refuse to use them anymore, as they have taken several orders only to cancel them weeks later. CMSNL I get the stuff in 3-4 days all the way from the netherlands. (yes the exchange rate hurts a little) but their service is top notch.
Good Luck, Long Live the NH

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I actually just found the cable with control and switches for 45 and free shipping. Don't really need the extra stuff but maybe someone will. Mystic, if you make it to the junkyard tomorrow, take a look at the 80 and let me know what is left on it. Who knows what else I may need. Thanks again!

you can buy a kit to make your own cables for bike for around 30 bucks. Make about 10 to 20 cables depending on what you use. google making your own throttle cables etc. About the only thing you need after that is sliver solder and a heat source to melt it . youtube has a few videos that teach you how to do it. if you ve got the both ends of the old cable you can drill them out and reuse them to make a new cable with sliver solder. Don't use reg solder it's to soft. Everyday aircraft cable you buy at your hardware store works for replacing the broke cable. Just need end peaces .
